Anna says;
“Most cats will welcome Reiki, especially if they’ve suffered hardship, trauma or illness, and like humans recognise their need for healing.
At first they’re usually surprised, and go, ‘Oh, I didn’t know humans could do that!’. Then they’ll position themselves in the beam of healing energy, like sitting in a ray of sunlight, and stay as long as they need to. After the first time, they look forward to their healing sessions, and will come up asking for Reiki.
Cats are very discerning, and let us know straight away in no uncertain terms if they don’t want Reiki. Nothing is ever imposed on them, and the individual cat is always in charge. They’ll let us know when their healing session is over, or if they want a certain area treated. Some cats will only want a short burst, and some will want a longer session, but on average spending about 10-20 minutes with each cat, depending on what they decide.
Cats need to be seen in their own home, as they find travelling & strange environments stressful, and we don’t want to add to their stress. I’m available within walking distance of the Old Town, or if the owner would like to bring me to their house then I am happy to travel further away”

A note on the concept – The practice of Reiki involves energy traveling through the hands of a practitioner through a subject’s energy pathways and centres, then through the whole body. … It seeks to correct energy imbalances in the subject’s body. This is also referred to as Chakra balancing the process through which the realignment of the separate chakras takes place, enabling them to work together effectively which is key to creating balance within the body. Reiki is a natural way to open the chakras and bring them back into a state of balance.
We humans have 7 chakras whereas Cats have 8 major chakras plus the Bud chakras.
